You are hereby officially, cordially, & enthusiastically invited to join me as I take part in one of a series of readings for the anthology Far Villages: Welcome Essays for New & Beginner Poets, published by Black Lawrence Press. (Want to see the whole lineup of readings? Check it out here!)
The event starts at 8pm EST/5pm PST on October 15th. I'll read briefly from my essay, "A Michael Bay Brain: Encouraging Words for the Working Poet," and I'll take part in a Q&A with fellow poets Marina Blitshteyn, Robbie Gamble, and Amy Miller. Come through with your questions about writing poems in restaurant kitchens, Adjuncting, publishing, and the myths surrounding what a "capital-P Poet" should look like.
Of course, the event will be fully virtual; all you need to attend is a (free) Zoom account and the link to join. If this sounds enticing, Register here!
One last, non-technical or calendar-related note: I've been reading through this anthology, and y'all--it's so full of heart, great advice, and honest, relatable experiences from poets who have been in the trenches & know that the journey can be at once tough, inspiring, draining, and rewarding. I can't wait to hear from my fellow readers, and I'm excited to share my own work in this format. If you're interested in grabbing a copy of the anthology for yourself, you can do that here.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you there!
